    FORT / TICONDEROGA / BICENTENNIAL / 1755–1955 in four lines; Michel Chartier, Marquis de Lotbinière standing right, holding fortification plans; façade of fort and cannons behind; rising sun in background // AMHERST • BURGOYNE • ALLEN • SCHUYLER • BROWN • PUTNAM • KNOX • ROGERS • CHAMPLAIN • MONTCALM • WASHINGTON, eagle, with wings spread and head right, atop cannon, with French and English standards below. Edge: MEDALLIC ART CO. N.Y. BRONZE.

     

    MACO 1955-033. Gem Mint State. Brown-bronze surfaces, with some lighter hues upon the higher points. Mintage of just 100 pieces. Includes original box and note from John H. G. Pell (director of the Fort Ticonderoga Museum) to William H. Pell, Esq., dated 21 December 1955.
