Edge: Plain.
Mint State. Deep glossy charcoal gray surfaces, with just a few spots (especially neara the face of the seated figure) scattered about. A fairly rare and charming piece.
The Society was founded as the Khedivial Society of Geography by Isma'il Pasha in May 1875. Over the years, it changed its name, here being called the Royal Society of Geography, owing to British influences. Its current name, the Egyptian Geographic Society, originated in 1952 following the Egyptian Revolution.
